Working offshore is not something everyone wants to do. There are many well paid jobs onshore in the oil and gas industry – and although most of them are based in the main ‘oil’ centres such as Aberdeen and Great Yarmouth, many are in other places in the UK, including commercial and trading units in London.
For many of these jobs, the industry is seeking to recruit people who already have all or most of the necessary skills. If you are already trained and qualified as a lawyer, accountant, geologist, engineer, electrician, plumber, crane driver, mechanic or fitter – to name but a few - then there will almost certainly be jobs that you could do. There are also many graduate opportunities available onshore. For more information take a look at the onshore case studies.
